Learning with MemoCard

Understand your learning progress

Understand your learning activity, your Leitner status and your exam scores – and find out what you want to learn next.

Your learning activity: see your consistency

Your learning overview shows how many answers you gave today and how many card sets you studied. “Your study week” shows the days you were active. Select a day to see its answers and card sets.

An answer is not the same as a new card: if you answer the same card several times, you will create learning activity several times.

Your learning week Example

Choose a day and discover the learning activity.

Friday 18 answers · 2 card sets

Learned on 4 out of 7 days. Regularity is visible – how confidently you master the material, these days alone do not show.

Success rate: 75%
Learning progress60 %

30 of 50 cards learned

The bar shows how many active cards you have already learned. The success rate, on the other hand, shows the proportion of correct answers.

In the example, 30 out of 50 active cards have already been learned: this results in 60% learning progress. The 5 paused cards do not count towards the calculation of the bar. 100% means that all active cards have already been learned – not that every answer was correct.

The progress indicator helps you to classify your learning status per card set. In the learning statistics you will find already learned cards, correct and wrong answers as well as started and completed sessions. To do this, open “Learning Statistics” in the learning menu of your card set tile. On your own sets, you can also click directly on “Learning Progress”. With "Total", "Last 7 days" and "Last 30 days" you filter the activities; the current learning status and the Leitner boxes remain independent of this.

“Already learned” means that you have dealt with a card. It does not automatically mean that you can answer them safely permanently.

Reading the success rate correctly

It puts the right answers in relation to the right and wrong answers of the area under consideration. Repeated answers can count several times.

Example: 30 correct answers and 10 incorrect answers give 75%. This does not mean that you permanently master 75% of all cards.

Leitner status: what is next

Your Leitner boxes Example
50 cards in five boxes6 reviews due
  • Box 1 8 cards 4 due
  • Box 2 12 cards 2 due
  • Box 3 16 cards None due
  • Box 4 9 cards None due
  • Box 5 5 cards None due

Here, 4 cards in box 1 and 2 in box 2 are due. Cards in higher boxes also continue to be reviewed.

The five boxes show which cards still need frequent review and which have reached longer review intervals. Due cards are scheduled for the next review.

“Repeats due” refers to the Leitner system. It is neither a general task list nor the result of an exam. Also “No repetition due” does not mean that you have already learned everything.

Examination results: your status in this exam

MemoCard Exam shows you right, wrong and unanswered questions as well as the result in relation to the selected passing threshold. Unlike the success rate of answered questions, unanswered questions are also included in the total number.

Study weaknesses – view example

In this example exam, 4 answers were incorrect and 2 questions were unanswered. “Study weaknesses” uses the corresponding cards for a new session. Matching questions may involve several source cards. No real session is started here.

Compare results best with similar learning material, similar difficulty and comparable conditions. An exercise exam is a snapshot and not a guarantee of a real exam.

Numbers will be your next learning step

  • Leitner repetitions due? Start the next repetition.
  • Are gaps visible in the test result? Choose “Study weaknesses” to practice incorrectly or unanswered cards.
  • New material? Start by getting to know it with Stack learning.
  • Did you rework? Test yourself again and classify the result together with your previous learning activity.
