Answer

Notify your manager or lead, cut a safety ticket.

Card 283

Question

Explain what you should do if you are injured or shocked on the job, when should you report it?

Card 284

Question

Explain where all Amazon safety rules located?

Answer

policy.amazon.com

Card 285

Question

At what point does the Critical Switching Team need to perform switching?

Answer

Any operation which will realign customer load power source or reduce customer load planned redundancy.

Card 286

Question

Define an open and closed transition and list examples of each

Answer

Open Transition: Original power source breaker is opened before closing new power source breaker. This is done to prevent inadvertent backfeeding in addition to accidentally paralleling out of phase sources.. An example of this is MCBU/MCBG transitions.

Closed Transition: New power source breaker is closed before opening original power source breaker. This is done to ensure continuity of power. An example of this is MBP/IOB.

Card 287

Question

Define LLT and what is it?

Answer

Live load transfer, preventative maintenance

Card 288

Question

Define PUE and how it is calculated

Answer

Power Utilization Efficiency. Total Load/Critical Load

Card 289

Question

Define the following terms and discuss their purpose: ATS

Answer

Automatic Transfer Switch.

Card 290

Question

Define the following terms and discuss their purpose: Breaker

Answer

Switching device that can be used to start/stop current and provide automatic protections.

Card 291

Question

Define the following terms and discuss their purpose: CDB

Answer

Critical Distribution Board.

Card 292

Question

Define the following terms and discuss their purpose: HMI

Answer

Human Machine Interface.

Card 293

Question

Define the following terms and discuss their purpose: PDP

Answer

Power Distribution Panel.

Card 294

Question

Define the following terms and discuss their purpose: TVSS/SPD

Answer

Transient Voltage Surge Suppressor is a device designed to protect equipment from power surges and voltage spike. TVSS is mounted on the switchgear to protect downstream equipment, it does this by grounding the energy spike using unidirectional diodes.

Card 295

Question

Define the following terms and discuss their purpose: USB

Answer

Utility Switch Board.

Card 296

Question

Describe in detail how the IOB/MBP kirk key system works

Answer

There are three solenoid key release units and two associated keys. One unit for each breaker (MBP and IOB) and a unit for the command solenoid. By removing the key from the command solenoid unit, the UPSs are locked into bypass mode and the breakers are allowed to operate. Keys are turned CW to permit breaker operation or CCW and removed to prevent breaker operation.

Card 297

Question

Describe what will happen If we are on generator and power becomes unacceptable.

Answer

10 Second Gen Source Loss timer

If utility if available: Gen Breaker Open, 2 Second Open Transition Time Delay, Utility Breaker Close. Generator 5 minute cooldown.

If utility is not available: 90 second dead bus timer, ATC transfer to Catcher lineup

Card 298

Question

Discuss the difference between a limited approach boundary and a restricted approach boundary as defined by NFPA70E

Answer

Briefed personnel may enter limited approach. Only electrically insulated personnel may enter the restricted boundary.

Card 299

Question

Discuss the following with regard to the switchgear HMI/AMCOP: Define “Open transition delay” and what its purpose is

Answer

Breaks power source connection before making contact with new source. A timer then begins (2 seconds) to ensure breaker is open and system is de-energized before closing subsequent breaker This is done to prevent accidental backfeeding of generator into a utility line and inadvertent paralleling of out of phase sources.

Card 300

Question

Discuss the following with regard to the switchgear HMI/AMCOP: Discuss the purpose of the HMI/AMCOP

Answer

A means for open transition, automatic switching of the critical load between the utility and generator power sources
