Manage and Share Flashcard Sets

Arrange your learning content, customize cards, and decide who can use your flashcard sets.

The screenshots and example illustrations show the German interface; the instructions and captions follow your selected language.

The actions of your card set

Open your card sets. Choose “Edit” to open the editor. The three-dot menu offers additional actions depending on your permissions. In the app, this menu opens as an overlay. Offline, these management actions show a message explaining that a connection is required.

Private, public or assigned to a group?

Private
The set is not made publicly available. An existing group assignment is to be considered separately; therefore, “private” does not automatically mean that only you have access.
Public
Via the visibility in the editor or the offered action "Make public" you can provide a set publicly. Check content and rights beforehand. Through "making private" the public visibility can be reduced.
For a study group
Add the set to the desired group. This will provide it to the group without creating a separate copy. Instructions: personal learning groups and Organisational learning groups.

The right to learn is not the same as the right to edit, publish or delete a set. Which buttons you see depends on your permissions.

Copy and move to folders

  1. In the three-dot menu, select “Copy” when the action is offered. Check the feedback and the resulting copy. A copy is its own set; subsequent changes to the original are not automatically transferred to it.
  2. With the move to a folder action, you assign your own set to a destination folder. Select the folder in the dialog and confirm. A folder organizes your overview; it does not replace sharing with a study group.

Editing, sorting and pausing cards

Open “Edit” and the editor’s card overview. Using the pen, you edit a card and save its changes. In the app, you move cards with the arrows up or down; on the web, the sorting function is available for dragging.

Using the active/pause action, you can remove cards from the active learning material and reactivate them later. The card is retained. Pausing is not the same as deleting and affects which cards are considered when learning.

More about text cards, selection answers, drawings and imports can be found under With the editor.

Removing is not always deleting

ActionMeaning
Remove set from a study groupThe assignment is removed. The original set is not deleted.
Delete the individual cardThe card is removed from the set. Check the confirmation dialog.
Delete card setYou delete the set, not just a group assignment. Check the name in the confirmation dialog and consider the use by other people.

If you are unsure, cancel the dialog and check the set or assignment first.
