Managing learning sessions
Prepare your learning scope, continue a session or consciously restart.
Preparing a study session
- Open the learning menu of the desired card set and select the learning mode.
- In the setup dialog, choose the cards to study: all cards, a limited number or a custom selection, depending on the mode.
- Enable “Shuffle” or reverse the study direction if needed. Check your selection and start the session.
Reversing swaps the question and answer sides. In Writing mode, your answer must then match the text on the opposite side. Available settings vary by study mode.

Continue an open session
If there is an open session for the card set, the learning menu offers its continuation. Choose the mode offered for further learning. Merely leaving the learning page is not the same as the explicit “cancel session” action.
If you want to start another mode and the existing session conflicts with it, MemoCard shows “Other Study session Open”. You can continue the existing session or choose “End and Switch”. Read the selection before you switch.
Cancel the session or reset Leitner?

| Reset Leitner system | Use this to restart the Leitner system for this card set. It resets the Leitner boxes, due dates and current study pool. As stated in the confirmation dialog, other study sessions and answer statistics are preserved. |
Do not reset simply to take a study break. Before confirming, check the card set name and the consequences described.
What cards are learned?
The active session depends on its learning scope and the settings of the selected mode. Paused cards are not part of the active learning material. Changes to the selection or card set do not automatically mean that an already open session will resume immediately with a different scope. Check the session and prepare a new one if necessary.
In the app, you can study offline using locally available content. New content and results shown online require synchronization.
